A couple of days ago, I wrote a question aimed towards the creators of this website asking a very specific question: What's next with Hashnode? A day passed and I got the response and Sandeep Panda, the co-founder, was very specific regarding their goals.
Picture 1: Statements and goals that Hashnode is currently working on.
It is clear that they are moving towards providing developers a good blogging service, and that will include the ability to monetize the articles. As for now, it is not clear on how are they going to implement that, however, there is another snippet of what are they currently working on.
Picture 2: Shows that they are working on PRO features
What this could mean is that they can implement a similar rewarding approach as the Medium has. When PRO users like your article and the interactivity are high (or some algorithm like that), then the cut of their PRO subscription will be given to you.
This sounds good but it is a question if they are going to go with that route. There are hints for that but at this time it is not confirmed. But that is not the point for right now. At this point, what we get is a promise that they will reward the content creators on the platform, in many different ways. This will for sure stand out from the competition like dev.to website and I don't have a doubt that some of them will import their posts into this platform.
tl;dr
Hashnode is working on a couple to get revenue into the company, but as it is stated, it is not sure how are going to help creators with it. All we can do is to wait.
My advice
The earlier you start blogging on this platform, the better the algorithm will treat you. Head start is the best start, and write write write.
